Tato část normy specifikuje metodu pro stanovení citlivosti plastů při korozi pod napětím (ESC) za přítomnosti chemického media při pomalém růstu deformace aplikované na zkušební těleso při konstantní rychlosti v tahu. Lze ji použít pro zkušební tělesa připravená tvářením a/nebo obráběním a může být použita pro stanovení relativní ESC citlivosti materiálu vystaveného různým prostředím, jakož i pro stanovení relativní ESC citlivosti různých plastů vystavených specifickému prostředí. Tato zkouška je v podstatě hodnotící a není určena pro získání dat, která jsou použitá pro navrhování. Základní výhodou v porovnání se zkušebními metodami popsanými v částech 2 až 5 ISO 22088 je rychlost, s níž je možné ESC citlivost pro jednotlivé kombinace polymer/prostředí stanovit
