Tato mezinárodní norma stanovuje metodu zkoušení přepravního balení a manipulačních jednotek horizontálním rázem (zkouška na horizontální nebo šikmé dráze a zkouška na výkyvné plošině). Zkouška může být provedena jednak jako samostatná zkouška pro zjištění účinků horizontálních rázů nebo jako součást série zkoušek navržených pro zjištění schopnosti obalu nebo manipulační jednotky odolat rizikům v distribučním systému zahrnujícím i horizontální rázy.
