Tento dokument specifikuje metody zkoušení materiálů kovových pásů za účelem stanovení napěťově-deformačních charakteristik při vysokých rychlostech deformace. Tento dokument se týká používání systémů typu pružné tyče. Rozmezí rychlostí deformace mezi 10-3 s-1 až 103 s-1 se považuje za nejvíce odpovídající případům srážek vozidel na základě experimentálních a numerických výpočtů, jaké jsou např. v práci analyzující metodou konečných prvků (FEA) odolnost proti nárazu.
