Tato norma specifikuje gravimetrickou metodu stanovení obsahu nerozpustného (volného) uhlíku v hmotnostních procentech v karbidech a tvrdokovech. Tato metoda je vhodná pro karbidy chromu, hafnia, molybdenu, niobu, tantalu, titanu, vanadu, wolframu a zirkonu, směsi těchto karbidů s kovovými pojivy neobsahujícími mazivo a všechny jakosti předslinutých nebo slinutých tvrdokovů, které se z těchto karbidů vyrábějí, které mají obsah nerozpustného uhlíku od 0,02 hm. % a 0,5 hm. %
