Tato norma specifikuje metodiku pro stanovení těkavých olejů v koření, kořenících látkách a v bylinách. Metoda spočívá v destilaci silic ze vzorku vodní parou. Vydestlivané silice jsou jímány do známého množství xylenu. Množství silic je po ukončení destilace stanoveno jako rozdíl objemu xylenové fáze po a před destilací.
