Norma uvádí postup stanovení obsahu vlákniny v krmivech s vyjímkou krmiv s obsahem vlákniny nižším než 10 g/kg. Stanovení je možno provádět manuálním nebo poloautomatickým způsobem. Vláknina je podíl krmiva, který se nehydrolyzuje zředěnou kyselinou a zásadou za podmínek metody. Obsah vlákniny se stanoví jako rozdíl hmotnosti vysušeného zbytku po obou hydrolýzách a hmotnosti tohoto zbytku po spálení a vyjadřuje se v g/kg.
