Tato norma uvádí metodu stanovení oděru duše hadice průchodem určitého množství specifikovaného ostrohranného písku hadicí. Metoda je použitelná pro pryžové a plastové hadice o vnitřním průměru od 20 mm do 50 mm používané pro pískování, otryskávání broky a podobné účely.

Metoda se může použít u odlišných druhů hadic ke srovnání odolnosti proti oděru, avšak ne pro určení hodnoty největšího oděru v předmětové normě hadice. Srovnávat je třeba stejné druhy a rozměry hadice. Výsledky zkoušek s různými druhy ostrohranného písku se nemohou srovnávat
