vodě rozpustné sírany jsou odstraněny vodou z ocelového povrchu Breslovou metodou (viz ISO 8502-6). Pro vytvoření koloidního roztoku Ba SO4 se do roztoku s extrahovanými sírany přidá srážecí činidlo, Ba(NO3)2 nebo BaCl2, a flokulační činidlo. Spektrální absorbance disperze závisí na obsahu síranů a používá se pro stanovení hmotnostní koncentrace extrahovaných rozpustných síranů.
