Norma je součástí souboru ČSN EN ISO 8502, který specifikuje zkoušky pro vyhodnocení čistoty povrchu ocelových podkladů před nanesením nátěrových hmot a obdobných výrobků. Uvádí návod k odhadu pravděpodobnosti kondenzace vlhkosti na povrchu, na který má být nanesen nátěr. Lze ji použít k určení, zda podmínky na daném místě jsou nebo nejsou vhodné pro nanášení nátěrů. Norma se zabývá podstatou odhadu pravděpodobnosti kondenzace, uvádí přístroje používané ke stanovení potřebných hodnot a postup odhadu. V příloze obsahuje rozsáhlou tabulku pro stanovení rosného bodu z teploty vzduchu a jeho relativní vlhkosti, kterou lze nahradit použitím kalkulátoru a vzorce uvedeného v této příloze.
