Tento dokument specifikuje kapalinovou scintilační metodu pro stanovení objemové aktivity tritia ve vzorcích mořských, povrchových, podzemních a srážkových vod a pitné vody nebo tritiované vody ( 3H H2O) v odtocích. Tuto metodu není možné přímo použít k analýze organicky vázaného tritia; k jeho stanovení je nutná další chemická úprava (jako je chemická oxidace nebo spalování). Při vhodných technických podmínkách může být mez detekce nízká, až 1 Bq.l-1. Objemové aktivity tritia nižší než 106 Bq.l-1 mohou být stanoveny bez ředění vzorku
