V1.4.1 Tato norma zahrnuje minimální požadavky na všeobecné komunikace pro lodní pevné instalace, používající VHF radiotelefon, který pracuje v určitých kmitočtových pásmech přidělených námořní pohyblivé službě využívající kanály 25 kHz nebo 25 kHz a 12,5 kHz a přidružená zařízení pro DSC třída D. Tyto požadavky obsahují příslušná ustanovení Radiokomunikačního řádu ITU, dodatek 18, doporučení ITU-R M.493-12, M.825-3 a zahrnují příslušné pokyny IMO podrobně uvedené v oběžníku IMO MSC/Circ-803. Tato norma rovněž specifikuje technické vlastnosti, metody měření a požadované výsledky zkoušek
