V1.2.1 Tato norma, spolu s EN 301 489-1, obsahuje posuzování zařízení základnových stanic, pohyblivých a ručních/přenosných leteckých radiokomunikačních zařízení VHF, umístěných na zemském povrchu, a přidružených zařízení z hlediska elektromagnetické kompatibility (EMC). Rovněž se zabývá požadavky EMC na rádiová zařízení základnových stanic umístěných na zemském povrchu a pracujících v režimu 2 VDL a v režimu 4 VDL a norma specifikuje vhodné zkušební podmínky, posuzování funkce a funkční kritéria pro letecká rádiová zařízení, umístěná na zemském povrchu, a přidružená zařízení.
