V1.1.1 Tato norma platí pro aktivní lékařské implantáty velmi nízkého výkonu a doplňky popsané ve Směrnici 90/385/EEC, pracující v komunikačním systému lékařského implantátu v kmitočtovém pásmu 402 MHz až 405 MHz. Tato norma je určena k pokrytí opatření Směrnice 1999/5/EC (Směrnice R&TTE) článku 3.2, který stanoví, že rádiové zařízení musí být konstruováno tak, aby efektivně využívalo spektrum přidělené pozemním/vesmírným radiokomunikacím a orbitálním prostředkům tak, aby se vyhnulo nepříznivé interferenci.
