Tato mezinárodní norma stanoví odpovídající opakovatelné zkušební postupy a požadavky na provedení pro hodnocení ochranných krytů obsluhy, které podstupující zatížení. Tyto ochranné kryty jsou obvykle určeny k zajištění přiměřené ochrany proti předmětům (např. kamenům a suti), které mohou zepředu nebo shora proniknout na stanoviště obsluhy. Tato mezinárodní norma platí pro hydraulická lopatová rýpadla definovaná v ČSN ISO 7135, pokud jsou vybavena ochrannými kryty na stanovišti obsluhy.
