Tato mezinárodní norma stanovuje hlavní rozměry, tolerance a definice pro lineární kuličková pouzdra. Objímkový typ lineárního kuličkového pouzdra využívá určitý počet kuliček obíhajících v uzavřené smyčce ve válcovém pouzdře nasunutém na hřídeli. Lineární kuličkové pouzdro umožňuje pohyb přímočarý, nikoliv rotační. Tato mezinárodní norma stanovuje tři typy lineárních kuličkových pouzder, typ uzavřený, stavitelný a otevřený.
