Tato část normy ISO 14635 specifikuje zkušební metodu, založenou na FZG2) čtvercovém zkušebním zařízení, stanovující relativní zatížitelnost vymezenou poškozením povrchu zubů známým jako zadírání. Vysoké teploty povrchu způsobené vysokými tlaky a rychlostmi skluzu mohou způsobit porušení filmu maziva.
