Tato norma specifikuje metodu pro stanovení obsahů dusičnanů v tabáku. Principem metody je redukce dusičnanů na dusitany a následná tvorba diazosloučeniny. Ta je vázána komplexotvorným činidlem [N-(1-Naftyl)ethylendiamin dihydrochloridem] do barevného komplexu. Zabarvení vzniklého komplexu se měří v průtokové cele při 520 nm spektrofotometricky/kolorimetricky.
