Tato norma specifikuje metodu pro stanovení celkového dusíku po inline rozkladu UV zářením v různých typech vod, jako je podzemní, pitná, povrchová a odpadní voda, v hmotnostních koncentracích v rozsahu od 2 mg/l do 20 mg/l celkového dusíku v neředěném vzorku. Jsou možné jiné koncentrační rozsahy, pokud je horní mez koncentračního rozsahu přesně desetinásobkem dolní meze (např. 0,2 mg/l až 2,0 mg/l). Rozsah použití může být změněn úpravou provozních podmínek
