Norma obsahuje ISO 5799:1991. Specifikuje metody ke stanovení hodnot citlivosti ISO a průměrného gradientu ISO u filmů pro lékařskou a dentální radiografii v kombinaci se zpracováním s výjimkou mammografických filmů. Sensitometrické postupy platí pro filmy exponované přímo rentgenovým zářením. Účelem této normy je poskytnout metodu umožňující stanovení citlivosti ISO a průměrného gradientu ISO filmů v kombinaci se zpracováním reprodukovatelně s možností porovnávat tyto hodnoty s hodnotami u jiných výrobků. ČSN ISO 5799 (66 6624) byla vydána v červenci 1997
