Tento dokument stanovuje metodu potenciometrické titrace pro stanovení obsahu chromu ve slitinách niklu, které neobsahují rozpustné karbidy a které mají obsah vanadu menší než 0,2 % hmotnostního zlomku. Metoda je vhodná pro chrom s obsahem mezi 5 % až 22 % hmotnostního zlomku. Vanad, který může být přítomen jako nečistota ve slitině, dává pozitivní vychýlení. Nicméně při stavu 0,2 % hmotnostního zlomku je toto vychýlení rovno 0,068 % hmotnostnímu zlomku chromu, což je asi polovina reprodukovatelnosti metody
