Tato mezinárodní norma Přístup SQL ke vzdálené databázi (Remonte Database Access (RDA) for Structured Query Language (SQL)), definuje model pro dálkovou spolupráci SQL-klienta a jednoho nebo více SQL-serverů, která probíhá prostřednictvím komunikačních prostředků a definuje způsob šifrování zpráv, jejich sémantiku a přidružovaná zařízení zprostředkující vzájemnou spoluprácí mezi jedním SQL-klientem a jedním SQL-serverem.
