Tato technická specifikace popisuje metodu stanovení počtu jednotek vytvářejících kolonie (colony-forming units - CFU) ze zvlášť termorezistetních spór termofilních bakterií po záhřevu vzorku na 106 °C technikou počítání kolonií vykultivovaných při 55 °C. Použití této technické specifikace je omezeno na sušené výrobky z plnotučného mléka, odstředěného mléka a syrovátky, které jsou určeny k rekombinaci (obnovení) a používány při výrobě sterilovaných (např. ošetřených UHT nebo v retortě) mléčných výrobků
