Dieses Dokument legt die technischen Anforderungen und die erforderlichen Prüfungen für Abströmsicherungen (EFD, en: excess flow device) fest, die in Verbindung mit Atemschutzgeräten (RPD, en: respiratory protective device) mit einem Betriebsdruck von bis zu 300 bar verwendet werden. Geräte, bei denen der Volumenstrom nur im Falle eines Ventilbruchs unterbrochen wird, fallen nicht in den Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments. ANMERKUNG Auf dem Markt für unabhängige Atemschutzgeräte gibt es eine Vielzahl von Flaschenventilen, die auf unterschiedliche Weise an ein EFD angeschlossen werden können. Die Austauschbarkeit des EFD ist nur bei verifizierten Kombinationen aus Flaschenventil und EFD möglich. Die Verwendung ungeprüfter Kombinationen wird nicht als sicher angesehen.
