Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Luftstrom-Durchlässigkeit von weichelastischen polymeren Schaumstoffen fest. Es ist anwendbar auf Probekörper, die aus Schaumstoffprodukten ausgeschnitten wurden. ANMERKUNG ISO 7231 [6] legt ein einfaches Qualitätskontrollverfahren fest, das auch auf der Strömung der Luft durch Schaumstoffe beruht. Es kann angewendet werden, wenn die Absicht nicht darin besteht, die intrinsischen Eigenschaften verschiedener Materialien zu berechnen, um diese miteinander zu vergleichen, sondern lediglich die Qualität eines bestimmten Schaumstoffes zu überprüfen.
