Annotation of standard text IRS 70017-2ed. :

This document has been reviewed under the Systematic Review process in 2023 and changes have been made. This document was prepared by the UIC Energy and Electrical Traction Experts Group of the Rail System Forum to provide all Infrastructure Managers with guidelines for the evaluation of energy system incidents based on uniform criteria and common objectives. The energy system was divided into its main sub-sections in order to clarify the different causes of incidents or accidents and to provide feedback to adapt the system of asset maintenance. At the same time, the relevant classification, statistics and databases concerning the main failures were identified, as well as the data to be examined to facilitate the management of energy system incidents, which will allow both Infrastructure Managers and Railway Undertakers concerned to focus their attention and improve their organisations.
