ISO/IEC TR 19764:2005 defines a methodology and a guided check-list for evaluation of cultural adaptability in software, hardware and other IT products. The check-list and guidelines are not only applicable to all IT products, but also can be expanded to meet the requirements of specific cultural environments. ISO/IEC TR 19764:2005 will assist the marketplace by providing an objective evaluation method to measure cultural and linguistic adaptability. Although local or national requirements of a legal and regulatory nature may not always be directly relevant in evaluation of products meeting cultural and linguistic adaptability, they sometimes constitute a world-wide challenge for many products or services, now including those which are IT-based. ISO/IEC TR 19764:2005 provides indications reminding that such requirements may have to be met in a national or local profile to complete cultural and linguistic requirements in some countries and hence should be considered in evaluation, as guidance to producers. LISO/CEI TR 19764:2005 definit une methodologie et une liste de controle assistee servant a levaluation de ladaptabilite culturelle des logiciels, du materiel et dautres produits des technologies de linformation (TI). La liste de controle et les lignes directrices sont constituees delements largement utilisables, a tel point quon peut non seulement les appliquer a tous les produits des TI, mais egalement les augmenter pour satisfaire aux exigences propres a certains milieux culturels. LISO/CEI TR 19764:2005 aidera le marche en proposant une methode objective devaluation de ladaptabilite culturelle et linguistique. Les exigences locales ou nationales de nature juridique ou reglementaire ne sont pas toujours directement pertinentes dans levaluation de produits ou de services du point de vue de ladaptabilite culturelle et linguistique, mais elles constituent parfois un defi denvergure internationale, notamment quand il sagit des TI. LISO/CEI TR 19764:2005 laisse entendre que des exigences locales ou nationales doivent etre respectees pour tenir compte des caracteristiques linguistiques et culturelles de certains pays et que, par consequent, il convient quelles soient prises en consideration dans levaluation et que les fabricants doivent sen servir comme un guide.
