Er enthält Tabellen für Anbaumaße, Wellenzapfenmaße und ihre Toleranzen. Die Vielfalt von Bauarten und der große Bereich von Anwendungen für die großen Maschinen mit Achshöhen über 315 mm haben zur Erstellung einer relativ großen Menge von Werten für das Maß geführt, um alle möglichen Bauarten abzudecken. Deshalb deckt dieser Teil einen größeren Bereich ab als IEC 60072-1, innerhalb dem Bereichswerte ausgewählt werden können, die für alle Bauarten oder für eine genauere Normung geeignet sind.
