Dieser Teil der Normenreihe IEC 61084 legt Anforderungen und Prüfungen für zu öffnende Elektroinstallationskanalsysteme (CTS) und geschlossene Elektroinstallationskanalsysteme (CDS) fest, die für die Aufnahme und, wo erforderlich, für die elektrisch sichere Trennung von isolierten Leitern, Kabeln und gegebenenfalls anderen elektrischen Betriebsmitteln in elektrischen Installationen und/oder Kommunikationssystemen vorgesehen sind. Die Höchstspannung dieser Installationen beträgt 1 000 V Wechselspannung bzw. 1 500 V Gleichspannung.
