Dieser Teil von IEC 61169 ist eine Rahmenspezifikation (en: sectional specification, SS) und enthält Informationen und Regeln für die Erstellung von Bauartspezifikationen (en: detail specification, DS) für koaxiale HF-Steckverbinder, hauptsächlich für den Einsatz in 50-O-Funkkommunikationssystemen, Typ NEX10®1. Diese Norm beschreibt die Maße des Steckgesichts von Steckverbindern für allgemeine Anforderungen (Stufe 2) sowie maßliche Einzelheiten für Norm-Prüfsteckverbinder (Stufe 1) einschließlich Lehreninformationen sowie aus IEC 61169-1 ausgewählte Prüfungen, die für alle Bauartspezifikationen für koaxiale HF-Steckverbinder des Typs NEX10® gelten. Diese Norm enthält die empfohlenen Leistungskennwerte, die bei der Erstellung einer Bauartspezifikation zu berücksichtigen sind, und sie enthält außerdem Prüfpläne und Prüfanforderungen für die Bewertungsstufen M und H. Die HF-Koaxialsteckverbinder des Typs NEX10® werden mit allen Arten von HF-Kabeln und Mikrostreifenschaltungen in Hochfrequenzübertragungssystemen mit Betriebsfrequenzen bis zu 20 GHz verwendet.
