Dieser Teil von IEC 61347 legt Sicherheitsanforderungen an elektronische Konverter fest, die für den Gebrauch an Gleichspannung bis 1 500 V oder Wechselspannung bis 1 000 V bei 50 Hz oder 60 Hz vorgesehen sind, deren Bemessungsausgangsspannung zwischen Leitern und zwischen jedem Leiter und Erde entweder = 50 V (Effektivwert) mit einer von der Versorgungsfrequenz abweichenden Frequenz oder 120 V welligkeitsfreie Gleichspannung ist, und die für den Betrieb von Wolfram-Halogen-Glühlampen nach IEC 60357 und von anderen Glühlampen vorgesehen sind.
