Geräte im Anwendungsbereich dieses Dokuments sind Lasttrennschalter nach IEC 60947-3 mit besonderen zusätzlichen Anforderungen. Gekapselte Lasttrennschalter in diesem Dokument sind zum Trennen in Übereinstimmung mit der Normenreihe IEC 60947 geeignet und verfügen nicht über Mittel für Fernsteuerung oder automatisches Schalten, um ein unerwartetes oder zufälliges Starten zu vermeiden. Diese Geräte werden nicht zum betriebsmäßigen Schalten, zum Beispiel für Schnellstart und Schnellstopp oder für Tippbetrieb, verwendet.
