Dieser Teil von IEC 62631 legt die Messtechnologie und das Prüfverfahren für die relative Permittivität und den dielektrischen Verlustfaktor von dünnen, einschichtigen, isolierenden Polymerfolien ohne zusätzliche Schicht und Metallisierung auf der Oberfläche der Probe fest. Der anpassbare Dickenbereich liegt bei etwa 10 µm bis 100 µm. Die vorgeschlagene Frequenz ist die Netzfrequenz (50 Hz oder 60 Hz) und sie ist zudem geeignet für den technischen Frequenzbereich von 1 Hz bis 1 MHz.
