Dieser Teil von IEC 62668 definiert Anforderungen zur Vermeidung des Gebrauchs von gefälschten, wiederverwerteten und betrügerischen Bauelementen, die in den Industrien der Luft und Raumfahrt und Verteidigung sowie in Hochleistungsanwendungen (en: aerospace, defence and high performance, ADHP) eingesetzt werden. Er legt auch Anforderungen an die ADHP-Industrien zur Wahrung ihres geistigen Eigentums (en: intellectual property, IP) an allen ihren Produkten und Dienstleistungen fest. Die mit dem Kauf von Bauelementen außerhalb von Netzwerken konzessionierter Vertreiber verbundenen Risiken werden in IEC 62668-2 behandelt.
