Diese ÖNORM stellt ein konzeptionelles Schema in UML-Notation zur Verfügung, welches es ermöglicht, qualitative Informationen sowie allgemeine Metadaten (z. B. das Erfassungsdatum, Angaben zum Erfasser), die im Rahmen der Entstehung (Genese) von Geometrieobjekten anfallen, abzubilden. Dieses konzeptionelle Schema ermöglicht die Ableitung eines Austauschformates, das auf den Standards des ISO/TC 211 "Geographic information/Geomatics" basiert. Die Bestandteile des konzeptionellen Schemas können im Rahmen der Geodatenmodellierung für jedes beliebige Fachthema (z. B. Naturbestandsdokumentation, Leitungskataster, Liegenschaftskataster) angewendet werden, für die qualitative und allgemeine Metadaten zur Entstehung des einzelnen Geometrieobjektes von Relevanz sind. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf punkt-, linien- und flächenhaften Daten aus dem großmaßstäblichen Bereich mit Qualitätsanforderungen, wie sie in der Vermessung, der kommunalen Verwaltung und der Leitungs-dokumentation üblich sind. Diese ÖNORM stellt keine technischen Austauschformate zur Verfügung.
