Die vorliegende ÖNORM enthält Bestimmungen zur Prüfung und Beurteilung der Schwerbrennbarkeit, der Qualmbildung und der Tropfenbildung von Materialien und mit Flammschutzmitteln ausgestatteten Materialien, ausgenommen Bauprodukte; die Beurteilung darf dann nur für die geprüfte Kombination Flammschutzmittel/Material herangezogen werden. Darüber hinaus ist es vorstellbar, die Prüfmethode im Rahmen einer werkseigenen Produktionskontrolle (FPC/WPK) als indirektes Verfahren anzuwenden.
