Diese ÖNORM legt nationale Festlegungen zu EN 1995-2 fest und ist für Österreich gemeinsam mit der ÖNORM EN 1995-2 anzuwenden. Die ÖNORM EN 1995-2 ist in Österreich nur zusammen mit dem nationalen Anhang ÖNORM B 1995-2 (in Vorbereitung) anzuwenden. Der Teil 2 des Eurocode 5 enthält allgemeine Grundlagen für die Bemessung von Berechnung und Konstruktion der Haupttragwerksteile von Brücken, nämlich Tragwerksteile, die wichtig für die Zuverlässigkeit der ganzen Brücke sind. Dabei sind die Haupttragwerksteile aus Holz, Holzwerkstoffen, Holz im Verbund mit Beton, Stahl oder anderen Baustoffen hergestellt. Die folgenden Punkte werden im Teil 2 des Eurocode 5 behandelt: Allgemeines; Grundlagen für Entwurf, Berechnung und Bemessung; Baustoffeigenschaften; Dauerhaftigkeit; Grundlagen der Berechnung; Grenzzustände der Tragfähigkeit; Grenzzustände der Gebrauchstaublichkeit; Verbindungen; Ausführung und Überwachung.
