Diese ÖNORM enthält technische Anforderungen an die Herstellung und Errichtung von Gebäuden aus Holz, deren Wand-, Decken- und Dachkonstruktionen im Wesentlichen aus Holz und/oder Holzwerkstoffen bestehen. Die vorliegende ÖNORM gilt für Wohnhäuser und Gebäude aus Holz mit ähnlichen raumklimatischen Bedingungen und Nutzung wie in Wohnhäusern (z. B. Bürogebäude, Schulen, Kindergärten, Wohnheime, Hotels), deren Ausführung in Holzrahmenbauweise (z. B. Riegel-, Ständer- und Tafelbauweise), Holzskelettbauweise und/oder Holzmassivbauweise (z. B. Brettsperrholz-, Brettstapel- und Blockbauweise) erfolgt. Werden Gebäude teilweise in Holzbauweise errichtet, so gelten die Bestimmungen in dieser Norm sinngemäß.
