Diese ÖNORM enthält in Ergänzung zu ÖNORM EN 81-20:2015, Abschnitt 5.2.1.8 Festlegungen gemäß ÖNORMEN B 3716-2 und -3 für Glas in Wänden bzw. für Wände von Aufzugsschächten. Die Bemessungsgrundlagen in Abschnitt 4 gelten auch für gebogene Verglasungen oder punktförmig gelagerte Verglasungen sowie für Sonderkonstruktionen. Die Nenndicken sämtlicher Tabellen dieser ÖNORM gelten nur für linienförmig gelagerte Vertikalverglasungen gemäß ÖNORM B 3716-2. Besondere Anforderungen an Verglasungen wie z. B. Brandschutz, Schallschutz, Wärmedämmung werden in dieser ÖNORM nicht berücksichtigt.
