Diese ÖNORM gilt für Rohre und Formstücke aus duktilem Gusseisen für den Transport von Wasser, wenn keine Trinkwassereignung gefordert ist. Diese ÖNORM ist gemeinsam mit ÖNORM EN 545 anzuwenden. Sie enthält ergänzende Bestimmungen hinsichtlich der Verbindungen und des Oberflächenschutzes, die in ÖNORM EN 545 nicht erfasst sind. Ebenso sind empfohlene Konformitätskriterien im informativen Anhang A angegeben. Rohrsättel für Rohranschlüsse sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
