Diese ÖNORM legt auf Grund der speziellen geografischen, topografischen und klimatischen Verhältnisse, die in Österreich herrschen, nationale Anforderungen an Mischgüter der Mischgutgruppe offenporiger Asphalt für die Verwendung beim Bau von Straßen, Flugplätzen und sonstigen Verkehrsflächen, entsprechend der ÖNORM EN 13108-7, ÖNORM EN 13108-20 und ÖNORM EN 13108-21, fest. Diese ÖNORM ist gemeinsam mit diesen ÖNORMEN anzuwenden. Um die Belastungssituation in Österreich abdecken zu können, werden verschiedene Mischguttypen, bezogen auf Mischgutzusammensetzung und Anforderung an die Gesteinskörnungen, definiert. Diese ÖNORM setzt gebrauchsverhaltensorientierte Anforderungen der ÖNORM EN 13108-7 um und ist für besonders beanspruchte Asphaltschichten (z. B. aufgrund hoher Verkehrsbelastung bzw. Temperaturbeanspruchung) heranzuziehen.
