Diese ÖNORM legt Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung eines Befalls durch holzzerstörende Pilze und Insekten bei Holzbauteilen im Bauwesen fest. Diese Maßnahmen schließen die Behandlung des Mauerwerks gegen den Echten Hausschwamm ein. Die ÖNORM ist gemeinsam mit ÖNORM B 3801, ÖNORM B 3802-1, ÖNORM B 3802-2 und ÖNORM B 3802-3 anzuwenden. Die vorliegende ÖNORM behandelt Bauteile und Konstruktionen aus Vollholz, verklebtem Holz sowie aus Holzwerkstoffen. Die Anforderungen dieser ÖNORM gelten sowohl für statisch tragende als auch nicht tragende Holzbauteile. Die Anwendung der ÖNORM auf andere Holzbereiche wie Möbel, Einbauten, Kunstgegenstände und dergleichen wird empfohlen. Bekämpfungsmaßnahmen gegen Termiten, Ameisen und Sanierungsmaßnahmen bei Schimmelbefall sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
