Die ÖNORM B 6015-5 regelt das Verfahren, mit dem von akkreditierten Prüfstellen der Nennwert der Wärmeleitfähigkeit für Dämmstoffe, welche noch nicht hinsichtlich ihrer Wärmeleitfähigkeit durch Produktnormen geregelt sind, zu ermitteln ist. Der Nennwert der Wärmeleitfähigkeit ist in ÖNORM B 6015-2 definiert. Der Nennwert kann zum Vergleich verschiedener Dämmstoffe herangezogen werden, für Wärmeschutzberechnungen ist jedoch der Bemessungswert (ebenfalls definiert in ÖNORM B 6015-2) heranzuziehen.
