Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden - für die betriebswirtschaftliche Bewertung des Wärmeschutzes von Bauteilen und Gebäuden und - für die Beurteilung einer Bauleistung, wenn diese nicht nur an das Kriterium der geringsten Baukosten, sondern auch an das Kriterium der kleinsten Gesamtkosten über den Betrachtungszeitraum oder der kürzesten Amortisationsdauer gebunden werden soll. Dieses Dokument kann auch herangezogen werden, wenn externe Kosten wie etwa umweltrelevante Kosten berücksichtigt werden sollen. Nicht Gegenstand dieses Dokuments ist die betriebswirtschaftliche Bewertung von gebäudetechnischen Anlagen. Diese ist in ÖNORM M 7140 geregelt.
