Dieses Dokument befasst sich mit der Abgasabführung typengeprüfter gebläseunterstützter atmosphärischer Gas-Feuerstätten (ausgenommen Feuerstätten mit Gebläsebrenner). Im Sinne dieser ÖNORM sind Vormisch-Flächenbrenner als atmosphärisch anzusehen. Grundsätzlich sind Gas-Feuerstätten an eine Abgasanlage anzuschließen. Sofern nach den landesgesetzlichen Vorschriften zulässig und keine geeignete Abgasanlage verfügbar ist, sind auch andere Lösungen möglich. Diese ÖNORM befasst sich nur mit der Abgasabführung von Gas-Feuerstätten bis zur Einmündung in eine Abgasanlage (z. B. LAS-System) oder bis zur Ausmündung einer Abgasabführung ins Freie. Diese ÖNORM befasst sich auch mit der Lage von Reinigungs- und Prüföffnungen in der Abgasabführung.
