Diese ÖNORM definiert Begriffe und Produktgruppen für Beschichtungsstoffe, die als Öle, Wachse oder Öl/Wachs-Systeme zur Behandlung von Holzoberflächen in der Innen- und Außenanwendung bezeichnet werden. Sie dient der exakten Bezeichnung, Definition und Einteilung dieser Beschichtungsstoffe auf Grund ihrer chemischen Basis und/oder physikalischen Eigenschaften. Diese ÖNORM ist in Ergänzung zur ÖNORM EN ISO 4618 anzuwenden. Andere Beschichtungsstoffe wie z. B. Lacke sind nur insofern berücksichtigt, als dies zur Unterscheidung von Produktgruppen notwendig ist.
