Dieses Dokument legt einheitliche Mindestanforderungen für ein Brandfallsteuersystem fest und ist ergänzend zu ÖNORM EN 54-2 anzuwenden. Generell gilt, dass sämtliche Einzelkomponenten für sich alleine die einschlägigen Normen und Richtlinien erfüllen müssen. Komponenten, für die keine einschlägigen Normen und Richtlinien vorliegen, müssen die Anforderungen des Abschnittes 5 erfüllen. Eine Erfüllung der Anforderungen für einzelne Komponenten bedeutet noch nicht, dass der Zusammenschluss dieser Komponenten auch die Anforderungen dieser ÖNORM erfüllt. Folgende Anwendungen werden nicht durch diese ÖNORM geregelt: ż Energieversorgung der Peripheriegeräte; ż Elektrische Steuerzentralen für die Ansteuerung von Gaslöschanlagen (siehe ÖNORM EN 12094-1); ż Steuerungstafeln für die Ansteuerung von Rauch- und Wärmeabzugsanlagen und Druckbelüftungsanlagen (siehe z. B. TRVB 125 S:2015, Anhang 14 bzw. TRVB 112 S:2019, Anhang 6); ż Elektroakustische Notfallzentralen für die Ansteuerung von Notfallwarnsystemen (siehe ÖNORM EN 54-16); ż Alarmierungseinrichtungen (siehe ÖNORM EN 54-2).
