Feuerwehr-Auffanggurte, die dieser ÖNORM entsprechen, dienen den Feuerwehren als Auffang- und Haltegurt, als Rettungsgurt, zum Auf- und Abseilen von Personen als auch für die Anwendung im Flugdienst. Zusätzlich zu den Erfordernissen der ÖNORM EN 361 hat ein Feuerwehr-Auffanggurt die Anforderungen der ÖNORM EN 358 und ÖNORM EN 813 als auch der ÖNORM EN 1497 zu erfüllen.
