Diese ÖNORM behandelt regelt die Planung von Außenluftbedarf, Brand- und Schallschutz-Maßnahmen, die Regelung und Steuerung, die Ausführung sowie den Betrieb und die Wartung von kontrollierter mechanischer Be- und Entlüftung von Schul-, Unterrichts- oder und Gruppenräumen sowie Räumen mit ähnlicher Zweckbestimmung (z. B. Seminar- oder Schulungsräume). Nicht in Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM werden: ż Luftbehandlungsgeräte, die im Umluftbetrieb in Verbindung z.B. mit UV-C- Strahlung, Ozon, Wasserstoffperoxid, chemischer Behandlung, etc. arbeiten; ż Sonderunterrichtsräume (z. B. Lehrwerkstätten oder Lehrküchen, Turnsäle, Laboratorien).
