Das in dieser ÖNORM beschriebene Verfahren dient zur Bestimmung von mineralischem Stickstoff (Nmin) im Boden zum Zeitpunkt der Probenahme. Gegenstand der vorliegenden ÖNORM sind Probenahme, Extraktion und herkömmliche Bestimmungsverfahren. Für umweltbezogene Aufgabenstellungen, zB Beurteilung von auswaschungsgefährdetem Nitrat, ist diese Methode unmittelbar anwendbar, jedoch standorttypisch zu interpretieren. Für landwirtschaftliche Zwecke, wie Bemessung der Stickstoffdüngung, ist die Methode nur gemeinsam mit standorttypischen Feldversuchen zur Ermittlung der "Sollwerte" anwendbar.
