Diese ÖNORM ist für die Beurteilung der Pflanzen für die Gartengestaltung und den Landschaftsbau hinsichtlich Güteanforderungen und Sortierungsbestimmungen anzuwenden. Weiters legt sie Bestimmungen über Verpackung und Transport sowie die Bezeichnung von Pflanzen fest. Sie dient auch als Grundlage für die Erstellung von Ausschreibungen und Angeboten von Leistungen der Gartengestaltung und des Landschaftsbaues, insbesondere wenn die ÖNORM B 2241 als Vertragsbestandteil vereinbart wird. Die Ausführung der Leistungen der Gartengestaltung und des Landschaftsbaues ist in der ÖNORM L 1111 geregelt.
